【Interview】Joint Exhibition Showcases the Strength of the Smart Healthcare Cluster
How can a warm ocean reduce the coldness of medical technology? The Kaohsiung Smart City Exhibition was grandly held from March 21 to 23 this year at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center, featuring over 150 domestic and international exhibitors and 550 booths. Representatives from 20 countries, 3 international organizations, and 19 cities participated. King One Design was honored to assist in planning and designing the "Smart Healthcare Pavilion," which incorporated a warm ocean design to mitigate the cold and indifferent feel often associated with medical technology. Collaborating with 15 medical and educational institutions from the Kaohsiung and Pingtung regions, the exhibition showcased Kaohsiung's outstanding achievements and innovative applications in the field of smart healthcare.
King One Design conducted special on-site interviews at the exhibition, inviting four organizations to share their strategic goals and benefits of participating in the joint exhibition, as well as their experiences working with King One Design in curating the event.

Q: How many times have you participated in the exhibition? What are your goals for participating in the joint exhibition? What benefits do you hope to gain?
A: E-DA Hospital is participating in the Kaohsiung Smart City Exhibition for the third consecutive year. When we participated in the first Smart City Exhibition, there were only four hospitals; now, in the third year, there are already fifteen medical institutions participating. This is the era of team collaboration, and it is a great direction for everyone to exhibit together. E-DA Hospital is willing to continue participating and use the exhibition as an opportunity to introduce the latest medical data, information, and each hospital's strengths to the people of Kaohsiung and Pingtung.
Q: How did you decide on the services and content to exhibit this time?
A: We aim to promote the latest surgeries and related information to the public, making it easy to introduce medical materials so that people are aware of and willing to use them. Additionally, E-DA Hospital's pharmacy department has won numerous awards, so we continue to participate to showcase related achievements and educate the public on medication concepts and knowledge.
Q: How do you foster innovative services? What challenges have you encountered in the development process?
A: E-DA Hospital established its Medical Innovation Center in 2018 with the aim of exploring more innovative medical services. The core mission of healthcare is to treat patients and save lives, and medical innovation must also prioritize patient safety. Therefore, it is quite challenging. The design of new system interfaces and technical communication among staff require a significant amount of time and effort. Participating in the exhibition annually serves as a continued motivation for innovation, and we also hope to share our collaborative achievements with other units through these exhibitions.
Q: What are your thoughts and feedback on the presentation of exhibition content and the use of related equipment?
A: Each unit's design style is diverse, and using interactive methods allows the public to immediately grasp the messages hospitals wish to convey. The collaborative communication process has been enjoyable.

A: We appreciate King One Design for assisting in the design of our booth and exhibition area. Despite the tight schedule, they were very quick to help with the communication and setup of the booth design within a short period. They worked tirelessly around the clock to communicate with us, and when we needed to make changes to the displays on-site, they provided immediate assistance.
Director of the Pharmacy Department at Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Lily Wang
Q: How many times have you participated in the exhibition? What are your goals for participating in the joint exhibition? What benefits do you hope to gain?
A: Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital has participated in the exhibition for three consecutive sessions. This year, we showcased hardware equipment such as smart dispensing desks and cabinets, along with the digital transformation achievements of our Pharmacy Department. This project was completed by various working groups over 7 to 8 years, culminating in the blueprint for a smart pharmacy. We aim to share these accomplishments with peers and the public through this exhibition.
Q: Thoughts and feedback on collaborating with the curatorial team?
A: The major difference in this exhibition compared to previous ones is the presence of a professional team dedicated to designing the exhibition area and managing work distribution. Having a unified point of contact has reduced individual administrative tasks and enhanced service quality.
Secretary of Cishan Hospital, Lin Yu-Chen
Q: How many times have you participated in the exhibition? What are your goals for participating in the joint exhibition? What benefits do you hope to gain?
A: Cishan Hospital is participating in the exhibition for the first time. As the hospital begins its development in the Cishan area, it offers a wide range of services focusing on smart remote care and next-generation genetic testing. The theme chosen for this exhibition reflects the hospital's current development direction.
Q: Thoughts and feedback on collaborating with the curatorial team?
A: We had excellent cooperation and assistance from the conference organizers, which helped us smoothly complete our exhibition this time.
Conclusion: Joint exhibition showcases the strength of the smart healthcare community, continuously sparking innovation momentum.
